With the next iPhone rumoured to be announced on September 9th, what can we expect and will it be worth the expensive upgrade?

The "iPhone 6" is said to be coming in 2 different sizes, a 4.7" and a 5.5" screen. Both are likely to drop this autumn, but some sources say issues with the 5.5" version may push that release into 2015. But expect the smaller device to launch first then the larger not far behind.

Rumours are rumours, September 9th will hold all the answers. In my opinion Apple fans will welcome the larger screens, plus everyone wants to be seen with the newest iPhone right?

Could this be the first pictures of the iPhone 6 leaked? Who knows, but it's that time of year again and rumours start flooding in on Apple's newest devices.

Reports are a bigger screen is in the making, with faster processors and new designs. Many people are saying these are fakes, but it just gives us that bit of excitement waiting for Apple to announce any new iPhone.

Expect new iPhone's and iPad's on the way, Apple's hard at work getting these products ready for the masses. But it will be some months yet before we see any concrete evidence to what apple's cooking up. Meanwhile, lets all gaze at what could be...Nick (admin)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10172545515040912901noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-749338029576847467.post-55869998332218603752013-08-14T19:40:00.000+00:002013-08-14T19:40:28.621+00:00iPhone event just around the corner...

So its almost upon us, Apple will be announcing its next lineup of iPhone's in little under a month we estimate, 10th September to be exact.

Expect to see iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. With leaked images and rumours all over the internet its hard not to look. But I like not to dig too deep into this as there's nothing like being surprised about the new releases right on event day.

iPhone 5s could look similar to the current iPhone with only minor exterior adjustments, but may have major changes on the inside. iPhone 5c on the other hand will be the first of its kind, sporting a plastic shell, and will have less upgrades to keep the cost down. Apple hope to appeal to a wider range of consumers who would like an iPhone but cant afford its hefty price tag.

IOS 7 will most likely "go live" too, falling in line with the new iPhone release. September looks to be a good month, so clear your diaries. More to come...

New designs, better hardware, better screens, its all coming. We should see a lighter and thinner iPad 5, and hoping to see iPad Mini upgraded with a retina display.

Everyone loves a new Apple product, and the iPhone tops the list. But what will we see this year, an iPhone 5s or will it be the iPhone 6?

Without a doubt there will be a new iPhone release at some point this year, and if you love Apple products you'll sure be excited about it. So when can we see any announcements, no one knows for sure if we will see a special event or if the new iPhone will launch at WWDC in June.

There's talk of cheaper iPhones coming soon, I mean i'm all for that but only if build quality remains the same. If Apple can somehow keep costs down and still maintain excellent products that's great. If not, don't bother at all. I would not want quality loss just to save a few pennies.

If the iPhone will be called 5s or 6 remains to be seen, but im sure there will be many more rumours and news to come. We will keep you updated.Nick (admin)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10172545515040912901noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-749338029576847467.post-69482392389140440552013-01-09T20:09:00.000+00:002013-01-09T20:09:25.008+00:00Jessops in trouble

Troubled retailer Jessops goes into administration.

Specialist camera chain Jessops has called in the administrator in a bid to save its 192 UK wide stores. Jessops employs around 2,000 staff whose jobs are at risk. PricewaterhouseCoopers, the administrators appointed, said some stores will have to close. And I would imagine this over the coming weeks.

Jessops decline is due to online competition and advances in technology like camera phones, consumers are less likely to buy a digital camera as their iPhone 5 takes just as good pictures. And professionals turned to online specialists to buy their equipment.

It will be a shame to see Jessops fall, it was a place you could demo products and get good advice from. But in a struggling retail climate which other retailers will run into trouble this 2013?Nick (admin)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10172545515040912901noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-749338029576847467.post-16646633334936903582013-01-06T22:51:00.000+00:002013-01-06T22:51:39.188+00:00What's hot for 2013 - Gadgets away!So it's a new year and that means new tech arriving in our hands from every corner of the earth. If your tech hungry then this year could mean an overdose. An overdose of gadgets of course!

Apple, Samsung, Sony, Microsoft to name but a few, will be churning out the next big upgrades at lightning pace, excited? you best be.

Improved screens on tablets will be coming making them easier to read in direct sunlight. After success with the Kindle, Amazon are getting ready for a smartphone launch, what damage could this do to Apple and Samsung? who knows, as the battle of the smartphones heats up.

Google looks to step it up with their much anticipated "project Glass", these augmented reality glasses project a screen right into your line of sight, for web browsing on the move maybe? Sounds pricey.

But what for gamers? Don't worry, expect complete re-designed Playstation 4 and Xbox.

It's going to be a great year for tech, and I cant wait, so keep you eyes peeled and start saving!Nick (admin)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10172545515040912901noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-749338029576847467.post-25962507786703470992012-11-04T14:50:00.001+00:002012-11-04T14:51:58.891+00:00Comet's future looks bleak

As Comet goes into administration, gift cards have been suspended and it's website is down.

The future for troubled UK retailer Comet doesn't look very good as administrators Deloitte were called in to assess the situation and make key decisions for the companies future.

Hundreds of staff could loose jobs and many customers will be left disappointed as Comet may struggle to fulfill orders. Deloitte have suspended giftcard transactions, and nobody knows when these services will be accepted again.

The website is currently down, and shows "Comet sale starting soon". With a legal notice regarding the administration. Anyone looking for answers theres a FAQ section on their website for outstanding orders etc.

Comet has been in trouble for some time, loosing out on sales to online retailers. In an extremely competitive market Comet failed to attract the custom needed to survive. Also people have taken to social media sites to vent their frustration withe the failing retailer.Nick (admin)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10172545515040912901noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-749338029576847467.post-43914364570110574272012-06-07T20:06:00.001+00:002012-11-04T14:32:02.252+00:00Macbook Pro 2012 - Rumours

So what can we expect from the new Macbook Pro ahead of WWDC this month? Let's look at some rumours floating around on the web.

We could possibly be see something more lighter and slimmer, maybe resembling the Macbook Air perhaps. The screen is due an upgrade, to the retina pin sharp screens found on the iPad for instance.
Based on the 15 inch model we could see 16GB of RAM, 750GB hard drive and an upgraded processor.

One could say that the current Macbook is a bit on the bulky side so a slimmed down model would be great, USB 3.0 would be included too alongside a thunderbolt port and higher end graphics card. Will there be a superdrive or not? this is rumoured to be phased out on the new Macbook. Do we really need one anymore?

Well what I can say is we won't have to wait long as all will be announced at Apple's World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 11th-14th 2012. Speculation is the new Mac's will be hitting stores as early as July, as production of the new machine heats up. Exciting stuff.

What do you think?

Samsung Galaxy S3

So this is Samsung's latest offering in the mobile phone market, but what's it got to offer, and should we be trading in our iPhone to get one?

It's not a bad looking phone, looks nice to hold, and good build quality. Having a 4.8 inch display is always a bonus. But it may be a little too much to handle. Too bigger screen can be a hindrance. On the plus, movies and pictures will look stunning, if your not bothered about the size then the screen looks pretty cool.

Running Android 4.0.3 and it's quad core processor, make it something to consider, plus its packed with loads of extras, and a 8MP camera that supports 1080p HD video. One thing to note though is this feature packed phone will drain the battery significantly. Storage runs up to 64GB with a microSD slot too.

Overall its a great alternative to anyone not keen about jumping on the Apple bandwagon, but I can't see Apple owners flocking to the shops to buy this, I'm afraid the iPhone is still king.

From the release of the first iPhone it was clear this was going to be big. Ok when it was first released I wasn't too impressed with the spec, but i knew this was only the start.

People all over the world are now "converting" over to Apple products, their ease of use and stylistic design make them so appealing. You could say people may be jumping on the Apple bandwagon, but really I don't think this is the case. I think people really want to buy these products, and people feel proud to own them. Unlike when I owned a windows mobile product in the past, I hated it. Apple then gave me a shining light at the end of the tunnel, the iPhone 4.

But what drives people to flock to the iconic Apple Stores? Every time you pass one of these stores their stuffed to the brim with people imagining owning the latest Mac or iPad. Maybe its clever marketing or maybe its because they make excellent products, who knows.

Apple's not without its competitors, Android phones are somewhat gaining in popularity too, and it looks like it'll be a fight to the death. But who will come out on top? People will always be loyal to their chosen platforms, and I think Apple's loyal customers or "fanboys" will stick by them through thick and thin.
Sony Vaio F Series

For the same price of a Macbook Pro you could bag yourselves this beauty from Sony, but whats it got to offer?

If Macs aren't your forte, then this could be a strong contender. This boasts Windows 7, intel i7 2.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 640GB Hard drive. A main feature of this laptop is the 3D HD display which does look stunning, and if your all for 3D you won't be disappointed.

Its an entertainment packed laptop, with its Blu-ray capabilities. Of course you can do some great gaming on this too, thanks to its premium graphics card.

Pricing comes in at around £1,800. But you can pick one up off Amazon for around the £1,500 mark. It is quite pricey, and Sony seem to be pushing the 3D heavily. You can get cheaper versions, with less spec. But in this day and age it's best going for the higher spec laptops, just to keep it future proof, well for at least 6 months anyway.Nick (admin)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10172545515040912901noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-749338029576847467.post-4511636853808442032012-05-17T15:40:00.002+00:002012-06-07T19:43:26.706+00:00iPhone 5: Will you be getting one?

So, we kind of know now that this year will see the launch of the iPhone 5, but what can we expect, when can we expect it and most importantly, will it really be worth cashing in our iPhone 4 for something more "spectacular".

I'm guessing that we can expect a possible release date for the iPhone 5 around the september mark, or ideally just in time for Christmas 2012, a pretty good cash cow that'll be! But firstly we're all waiting in anticipation for the finalised design, spec and Apple announcement.

We could see a possible announcement of the iPhone 5 at the WWDC 2012 in June, although if a September to October release is expected is it not a little too early for Apple to be announcing it, what with their fast turnaround, will Apple wait 4 months to release the new iPhone?

Of course specs will be upgraded across the board, larger screen, better camera, upgraded RAM, bigger processor etc. But I seem to be sceptic of a re-design, I mean I quite like the current design of the iPhone 4, its unique. If there's a major re-design I do hope it pleases the majority of us.

As of needing it, we don't. We can survive with our iPhone 4, well for about another year or so, then we shall have to upgrade, due to that tech becoming obsolete. But I'm sure Apple Fanboys will be out in their masses on launch day, queuing for that next "must have" from Apple.

But this flash phone, that makes heads turn and everyone weak at the knees can't be perfect, surly?

Nick (admin)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10172545515040912901noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-749338029576847467.post-46343058670257072752010-08-30T22:13:00.004+00:002010-08-30T22:18:04.679+00:00Were back soon!

We Love Gadgets is back Autumn 2010......

Stay tuned for our return......

Nick (admin)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10172545515040912901noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-749338029576847467.post-68089545488651904572008-11-20T17:28:00.005+00:002008-11-20T17:47:09.937+00:00News: LG Prada II LG Prada II
Due December 2008
"Nice style icon, but has it the balls to live up to it's huge rivals?"

So, new year approaching, new Prada phone approaching. The last Prada phone came across plastic and tricky to use. But now the Prada 2 comes equipped with a QWERTY keyboard, perhaps this will make life easier, rather than texting on an awkward touchscreen. But it seems this phone also has problems with it's touchscreen.

Features include a 5MP camera, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, Wi–Fi, document editing and full web browsing. Also includes multi touch support, which allows you to zoom in on pictures and web pages by expanding your fingers across the screen. How well this works we shall have to see. If you want one, it will be available on Orange from Phones4U in December.

I just can't help thinking, if it wasn't for that Prada branding, this phone would just disappear into thin air! that sounds nice. What do you think? Renoir maybe?
Nick (admin)http://www.blogger.com/profile/10172545515040912901noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-749338029576847467.post-41352686170271459762008-11-13T14:09:00.005+00:002008-11-16T22:50:34.856+00:00Sony Ericsson W705 Sony Ericsson W705 - Available from Q1 2009
"A Walkman phone that stylish yet packed with features"

So we've seen a few Walkman branded phones released from the grasp of Sony Ericsson, this one looks like it will finally impress.

Sony's special audio technology says it will deliver crystal clear sound, something we can only wait and see. But not only is this phone a music god, the connectivity options don't seem bad either. The W705 supports both Wi-Fi and HSUPA - turbo 3G.

Whats included and Features
Shake Control let's you change track and adjust volume simply by shaking the phone in different directions. The phone comes You Tube compatible. 4 GB memory card included. Subscribe to your favourite RSS feeds. There's an FM Radio and a 3.2 Megapixel camera. Not forgetting Bluetooth.

This nicely designed slider phone looks like it will be a big hit when released, bit disappointing with the camera, perhaps a 5 MP at least would have done.
