iPhone 5s or iPhone 6?

Everyone loves a new Apple product, and the iPhone tops the list. But what will we see this year, an iPhone 5s or will it be the iPhone 6?

Without a doubt there will be a new iPhone release at some point this year, and if you love Apple products you'll sure be excited about it. So when can we see any announcements, no one knows for sure if we will see a special event or if the new iPhone will launch at WWDC in June.

There's talk of cheaper iPhones coming soon, I mean i'm all for that but only if build quality remains the same. If Apple can somehow keep costs down and still maintain excellent products that's great. If not, don't bother at all. I would not want quality loss just to save a few pennies.

If the iPhone will be called 5s or 6 remains to be seen, but im sure there will be many more rumours and news to come. We will keep you updated.

Jessops in trouble

Troubled retailer Jessops goes into administration.

Specialist camera chain Jessops has called in the administrator in a bid to save its 192 UK wide stores. Jessops employs around 2,000 staff whose jobs are at risk. PricewaterhouseCoopers, the administrators appointed, said some stores will have to close. And I would imagine this over the coming weeks.

Jessops decline is due to online competition and advances in technology like camera phones, consumers are less likely to buy a digital camera as their iPhone 5 takes just as good pictures. And professionals turned to online specialists to buy their equipment.

It will be a shame to see Jessops fall, it was a place you could demo products and get good advice from. But in a struggling retail climate which other retailers will run into trouble this 2013?

So it's a new year and that means new tech arriving in our hands from every corner of the earth. If your tech hungry then this year could mean an overdose. An overdose of gadgets of course!

Apple, Samsung, Sony, Microsoft to name but a few, will be churning out the next big upgrades at lightning pace, excited? you best be.

Improved screens on tablets will be coming making them easier to read in direct sunlight. After success with the Kindle, Amazon are getting ready for a smartphone launch, what damage could this do to Apple and Samsung? who knows, as the battle of the smartphones heats up.

Google looks to step it up with their much anticipated "project Glass", these augmented reality glasses project a screen right into your line of sight, for web browsing on the move maybe? Sounds pricey.

But what for gamers? Don't worry, expect complete re-designed Playstation 4 and Xbox.

It's going to be a great year for tech, and I cant wait, so keep you eyes peeled and start saving!

Comet's future looks bleak

As Comet goes into administration, gift cards have been suspended and it's website is down.

The future for troubled UK retailer Comet doesn't look very good as administrators Deloitte were called in to assess the situation and make key decisions for the companies future.

Hundreds of staff could loose jobs and many customers will be left disappointed as Comet may struggle to fulfill orders. Deloitte have suspended giftcard transactions, and nobody knows when these services will be accepted again.

The website is currently down, and shows "Comet sale starting soon". With a legal notice regarding the administration. Anyone looking for answers theres a FAQ section on their website for outstanding orders etc.

Comet has been in trouble for some time, loosing out on sales to online retailers. In an extremely competitive market Comet failed to attract the custom needed to survive. Also people have taken to social media sites to vent their frustration withe the failing retailer.
